Associate Belonging

"Associates are persons who are called to share our faith and to grow spiritually with the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. We focus our energies on the poor and disadvantaged."  US-Ontario Province Associates Mission Statement from 2006 General Chapter

We invite women and men, married and single, who want to deepen their commitment to God to become actively involved in prayer and ministry with the Sisters of the Holy Names.

Associate belonging is an alternative relationship without canonical vows, within our Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Names. Associates accept the spirit and mission of the congregation. Sharing prayer, ministry and lived experience mutually enriches and supports them and the community. Following is a brief outline of the process of becoming an Associate.

In the initial inquiry seek contact with a Sister or Associate of the Holy Names who will set up an interview with you and a member of our Associate Team. If you wish to enter Candidacy, you will spend a period of orientation and mutual evaluation to discern your call to follow the charism and mission of the Community.

When you are ready for the commitment to embracing the SNJM priorities, the congregation will formally welcome you.

You will enter into a three year renewable covenant relationship of mutual consent with the Sisters of the Holy Names.

You will choose your level of involvement according to your lifestyle, opportunity or health considerations as you participate in and offer prayerful support of the SNJM ministries.
